Preparation and characterization of Pd-filled SnO2 thick film CO2 sensor

Abstract: Excessive emissions of CO2 has caused environmental problems, and CO2 detection is thus one of the hot topics for scientific research. The semiconductor gas sensors have become one of the most important partss of gas sensors. By the way, screen printing is often used to prepare thick film sensors. In this paper, nano SnO2 materials was selected as the major gas-sensitive material and the slurries based on SnO2 nanoparticles with different Pd filler contents were prepared. The SnO2 thick film CO2 gas sensor was prepared by screen printing method. It is found that when the Pd contentis 1% (weight base: SnO2), the thick-film gas sensor exhibits the bes tresponse at 258℃. The lower detection limit for the SnO2 gas sensoris 1000ppm and the sensitivity increases with increasing concentration of CO2.
