Modification of Properties for Lithium Zinc Titanate Microwave Ceramics by TiO2-B2O3 Additives

Abstract: The properties of TiO2-B2O3 doped Lithium Zinc Titanate( Li2ZnTi3O8 ) microwave ceramics are investigated by the conventional solid-state methods ,and the effects of TiO2-B2O3 doping content as modifiers on its structure and microwave dielectric properties are studied. The results show that B2O3 forms liquid phases and accelerates mass transfer during the sintering process, and lowers the sintering temperature of Li2ZnTi3O8 microwave ceramics to 900 ℃ . Also, the addition of TiO2 could adjust the frequency temperature coefficient τf of Li2ZnTi3O8 microwave ceramics. When the added amount of TiO2-B2O3 is 4.5% ,the ceramics sintered at 900 ℃ for 4 h show good microwave dielectric properties: εr = 25.9,Q × f = 46 487 GHz,τf= -0.35 × 10-6 /℃,which demonstrate a potential application value in low temperature co-fired ceramics field.
